Mica Rapstine
Ph.D. Candidate
I am a Philosophy Ph.D. candidate at the University of Michigan, where I am advised by Sarah Buss, Peter Railton, Brian Weatherson, and Kent Berridge (Psychology). Starting Fall 2026 I will be a Postdoctoral Fellow in UNC Chapel Hill Philosophy's Parr Center for Ethics.
In my research I take a path through ethics, moral psychology, the philosophy of mind and action, and epistemology. Much of my current work concerns the nature and normativity of the emotions which we experience in the context of moral life. I am particularly interested in the significance of our emotional attitudes for what we owe others and for how we change our minds about moral matters.
